JOHNSON CITY, TN, April 9, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Donna Garland Robbins, Epidemiologist at Tennessee Department of Health, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of healthcare.
With more than 20 years of professional experience, Ms. Robbins excels in infectious disease and syndromic surveillance, chronic disease epidemiologic research, managing disease reporting, emergency preparedness, food-borne illness and other outbreaks. She also performs disease investigation and works with the area hospitals on emergency preparedness. She also teaches epidemiology to undergraduate and graduate students as an adjunct faculty at the East Tennessee State University College of Public Health. Ms. Robbins feels proud to mention that she is the first epidemiologist to be recognized into the TN Epi-News "Spotlight" in 2008.
In 2002, Ms. Robbins received her Doctor of Public Health with a concentration in epidemiology from The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Public Health. She is affiliated with the Society for Epidemiologic Research, the Tennessee Public Health Association and the American Public Health Association and volunteers for the First United Methodist Church.
