Abbie Stewart Recognized for Excellence in Aerospace Engineering
Abbie Stewart soars at Air Force Research Laboratory
ALBUQUERQUE, NM, June 10, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Abbie Stewart, University Nanosat Program Manager for Air Force Research Laboratory, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of aerospace engineering.
Inspired by the space shuttle launches that she used to watch as a child, Ms. Stewart joined the Air Force Research Laboratory, an organization that specializes in small satellite design, construction, testing, and on-orbit operations. She assumed her current position in 2007. Her responsibilities include coordinating with 13 universities to design, test and launch satellites. She attributes her success to the support she receives from her mother and mentors.
Ms. Stewart received her Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering in 2007 from the University of Missouri-Rolla (now Missouri University of Science and Technology). She is a member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and Omicron Delta Kappa. In five years, Ms. Stewart aspires to become a program manager of larger satellites.
