Rexanne Struve Honored by Cambridge Who's Who
Rexanne Struve noted for pioneering the veterinary field for women in Carroll County, Iowa

MANNING, IA, June 9, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rexanne Struve, Director of Research for Struve Labs, Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of veterinary research.

Recognized as one of the first female veterinarians in Carroll County, IA, Dr. Struve has 33 years of experience working with animals. Her particular expertise lies in CDCD (Cesarean Delivered Colostrum Deprived) prize pigs and other farm animals. She brings her talents to Struve Labs, her own veterinary research laboratory, where she is in charge of managing business operations, ensuring quality, treating pigs in laboratories, conducting 'C' sections, and overseeing the care of cattle, cats, dogs and horses in her veterinary practice. Despite being discouraged from the profession by her grandfather, Dr. Struve had wanted to be a veterinarian since the age of 9; after a trip to a dairy farm when she was 17, she decided to focus her practice on cows and pigs. She attributes her success in her chosen career to her father, an entrepreneur who instilled in her his own determination and work ethic and who taught her to exhaust every means to get what she wants, provided it is legal, moral and ethical.

Dr. Struve received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1976 from Kansas State University. She is affiliated with the American Association of Swine Veterinarians and the American Association of Bovine Practitioners and the Academy of Rural Veterinarians, and volunteers with her local church and various charitable organizations in her spare time. Dr. Struve aspires to promote product lines and perform diagnostic tests on pigs other than CDCD pigs. Determined to enhance local employment opportunities and entice people to return to their hometown, she also has plans to offer jobs to animal caretakers and retirees with minimal options, as well as opportunities for higher-paying positions to professionals, especially young people.
