Teresa Pearson Eddy Joins the Ranks of Leading Professionals
Teresa Pearson Eddy is an expert in radio chemistry
AIKEN, SC, August 12, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Teresa Pearson Eddy, Senior Scientist at Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in nuclear science.
As a senior scientist at Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, Mrs. Eddy is responsible for overseeing the environmental monitoring radiological surveillance programs, ensuring radionuclide concentrations are below a certain level, analyzing data and trends, and overseeing air surveillance. The purpose of environmental surveillance at SRS is to survey and quantify any effects that routine and nonroutine operations have on the site and on the surrounding area to ensure the safety to the environment and public. Previously, she spent nine years as a chemist at the Savannah River National Laboratory where she was responsible for reviewing radiochemistry results to on-site and off-site customers.
Ms. Eddy received her Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from the University of South Carolina at Aiken in 1999. A recipient of the Laboratory Directors Award, she is a member of the Health Physics Society and the American Chemical Society. An avid participant in charity walks, she was the second highest walker for the Central Savannah Region Area Heart Walk in 2007 and takes part in the Heart Walk of the American Heart Association. Ms. Eddy hopes to attain a position on the managerial level.
