CARLSBAD, CA, September 9, 2009, Seongjoon Koo, Ph.D., Senior Staff Scientist for BasePoint Analytics, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of science.

As the senior staff scientist for BasePoint Analytics, a First American company, Dr. Koo excels in computer model and people development. He specializes in developing and managing a variety of computer models based on machine learning and artificial intelligence methods to detect fraud and delinquency for global commercial banks and mortgage lenders. Previously, he headed a quantitative research group in a boutique hedge fund and managed distressed debt portfolios prior to joining the hedge fund. He also contributed to bioinformatics and computational biology research for expedited drug discovery and advanced clinical diagnostics at leading biotech companies as well as at the National Cancer Institute. In 2001, Dr. Koo received his Ph.D. in Geophysics, with a concentration in Atmospheric Sciences, from the University of California at Los Angeles.
