Dr. Marcia M. Parker honored for achievements at Crescent City High School
Crescent City, FL, November 2, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Marcia M. Parker, Teacher/Instructor at Crescent City High School, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in secondary education.
Dr. Marcia M. Parker has 21 years of experience in secondary education and 12 years of experience as a Teacher/Instructor at Crescent City High School in Florida. Dr. Parker's expertise is in instructional leadership, making her committed to overseeing evaluation systems, staff development, and the science department at Crescent City High School. Additionally, she has worked with the Florida Department of Education/Evaluation Systems of Pearson in formulating and validating test items for the Florida Teacher Certification Examinations in Chemistry and Biology and currently supervises fellow science teachers and teachers of chemistry and physical science as well as Dual Enrollment College Biology as an adjunct professor at St. Johns River Community College, Palatka Campus. She is likewise a Science Fellow of the Department of Energy (DOE) Academies for Creating Teacher Scientists (ACTS) in the Pacific Northwest National Laboratories (PNNL) in Washington State for summers 2009-2011.
Driven by a steadfast work ethic, Dr. Parker was honored with the Teacher of the Year Award in 2005 and the Technology Teacher of the Year Award in 2003. She holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Argosy University/Sarasota, a Ph.D. candidacy, major in Biology and a Master of Science (M.S.) major in Biology from The University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines, and a Bachelor of Science in Education. (BSE) from St. Scholastica's College in Manila, Philippines. Currently, she is a proud member of the American Chemical Society (ACS), National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) and National Educators Association (NEA).
