Dr. Raghavan M. Nair Recognized for Excellence in Medical Research
Dr. Raghavan M. Nair is a member of several professional scientific organizations

SAVANNAH, GA, December 23, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Raghavan M. Nair, Professor, University System of Georgia (Retired), has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in breast cancer and endocrinological research as well as 30+ years of Medical School teaching.

Specializing in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Clinical Chemistry, Dr. Nair has 35 years of experience in his field. In his position, he has been responsible for obtaining and administering federal research grants, teaching and counseling Medical and graduate students. His medical research in the area of Brain Hormones with Prof. Dr. Schally has been recognized by the Nobel prize award 91977. Dr. Nair has taught in Indian Universities, Tulane Medical School, Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, and University System Georgia (Savannah State University).

The recipient of M.S. & Ph.D. from famous Universities in India, Dr. Nair showed his excellence in meritorious scientific research starting at Tulane Medical School from 1969 onwards and continuing his career at the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, he secured federal Government grants for his research and also guided graduate students and medical students. His work at the VA Medical Center as Chief Core Biochemist and Director of the clinical Radioimmunoassay lab at the research service gave him opportunity to contribute signal service to the students and patients.

Dr. Nair is an elected Fellow of the National Academy of Clinical Biochemistry and the Association of Clinical Scientists. He is also a continuing member of several Professional Scientific Societies: American Association for the Advancement of Science, American Association of Clinical Chemists, American Chemical Society, International Human Genome Organization, to name a few.

Presently he is working hard on a successful breast cancer drug which is isolated from natural resources. Complete animal and in vitro studies have been completed for this drug and he has established the supreme efficacy of this drug. He will soon apply for permission to FDA for clinical Phase studies in collaboration with Oncologists (Physicians) and when such studies are completed he is planning to apply for a patent and subsequently market this successful drug which will only kill cancer cells, not normal cells.
