Cambridge Who's Who Names Margaret A. Drain Professional of the Year in Institutional Research
Margaret A. Drain is considered an expert in survey research

HOUSTON, TX, November 11, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Margaret A. Drain, Research Associate II for Houston Community College, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Institutional Research. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.

With 15 years of experience in academia, Margaret A. Drain is considered an expert in survey research. She has devoted most of her career to Houston Community College. Working primarily in the Office of Institutional Research, she is tasked with undertaking survey analyses, constructing databases, gathering student information and determining success rates, mapping for college demographics, performing environmental scanning. Ms. Drain has published her findings in various books. Previously in the health care field, she attributes her successful transition to the support that she received from her administrators and colleagues at the college.

Ms. Drain completed coursework in education, plus 45. She earned a Master of Business Administration from Lamar University of Beaumont and a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education from the University of Pennsylvania. She is affiliated with the Texas Association of Institutional Research and the Texas Economics and Demographic Association, where she is a current board member. Ms. Drain considers developing programs and conducting research, analyses and evaluations to be the most enjoyable aspects of her career, and looks forward to more years in the same capacity.
