Virginia M. Quick Honored for Excellence in Applied Nutritional Science
Virginia M. Quick works with 10 other Universities from other states researching obesity
New Brunswick, NJ, March 24, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Virginia M. Quick, Registered Dietitian and Ph.D. Candidate at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in applied nutrition.
Virginia M. Quick is a doctoral student at Rutgers University studying nutritional sciences. Currently, she is working on her dissertation that is examining characteristics and disturbed/disordered eating risk factors for young adults with and without diet-related chronic health conditions. In addition, she assists with research projects regarding media and food advertisements directed to children, obesity prevention in young adults, and food safety education, along with being a campus coordinator for a USDA MultiState Project NC1028 (Promoting healthful eating to prevent excessive weight gain in young adults) National Research Initiative intervention.
Besides being a graduate student Ms. Quick works as a nutrition advocate supervisor, which is run through Rutgers University Health Services overseeing and mentoring 40 undergraduate nutrition students as well as working as a part-time Registered Dietitian in the Women's Health Clinic at Saint Peter's University Hospital. Crediting her success to her supportive family and friends, as well as her strong academic background (she has a bachelor of science from Rutgers and is a Registered Dietitian), she is a proud member of the American Dietetic Association, Academy of Eating Disorders and Kappa Omicron Nu.
