George S. Behonick, Ph.D., DABFT celebrates first year with AIT Laboratories
INDIANAPOLIS, IN, May 21, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- George S. Behonick, Ph.D., DABFT, Toxicologist for AIT Laboratories, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of forensic toxicology.
Specialized in postmortem forensic toxicology, Dr. George S. Behonick lends over 12 years of practiced expertise to AIT Laboratories. Now celebrating his first year with the firm, he has garnered a reputation for his extensive knowledge of pain management toxicology and opioid-related forensic studies. His current focus is on the education of clinician prescribers regarding opiate toxicology as well as opioid and other adjunct drug classes used in the treatment of pain in various clinical settings.
Prior to joining AIT Laboratories, Dr. Behonick served the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and as a forensic toxicologist for the Virginia Department of Forensic Science. He also held the appointment of Assistant Professor of Pathology for the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Actively involved with scientific research, Dr. Behonick has authored and co-authored numerous peer reviewed journal articles, abstracts and technical notes in forensic toxicology.
Dr. Behonick completed his Ph.D. in 1997 at St. John's University. He earned a master's degree in 1983 and a bachelor's degree in 1980. He is a certified Diplomate of the American Board of Forensic Toxicology and maintains professional affiliation with the Society of Forensic Toxicologists, the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology and the Northeastern Association of Forensic Scientists. Dr. Behonick's future professional aspirations include greater involvement in academics, writing and publishing, and working as a professional consultant in the disciplines of pain management, forensic postmortem and human performance (DUI/DUID) toxicology.
