Ana Maria D. Nunez received the Employee of the Month Award from Island County, Washington

OAK HARBOR, WA, August 04, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ana María D. Nuñez, Chief Deputy Treasurer of Island County, WA, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in her career.

Ms. Nuñez has 14 years of professional experience. As the Chief Deputy Treasurer, she makes decisions on the distribution of investments to meet the daily cash needs of Island County when required, maintains the investment database and authorizes debt payments. She also reconciles the bank statements, oversees collection of property taxes and special assessments and prepares monthly statements for schools, cities, a local hospital and the Department of Revenue, among other duties. Prior to becoming an accountant, she worked as a research scientist.

In 2006, Ms. Nuñez earned her Master's Degree in Accounting and Financial Management from Keller Graduate School of Management. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration, with a concentration in Accounting, in 1991 from the University of North Florida and a Bachelor of Arts, Biology, in 1983 form the College of Notre Dame of Maryland. A Certified Public Accountant, she is a member of the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Ms. Nuñez received the Employee of the Month award from Island County, WA, in January 2010.
