Dr. Barbara A. Phillips Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who
Dr. Barbara A. Phillips aims to understand how astronauts are affected by entering space

MARINETTE, WI, August 24, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Barbara A. Phillips, Research Psychologist, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in research psychology.

For the past eight years, Dr. Phillips has conducted research and studied the neurological component of research. Her most recent employment has been with NASA; crossing bridges between clinical and experimental psychology, she aims to form an understanding of how astronauts are affected by entering space. She is responsible for leading five specialists and working with astrophysicists.

Dr. Phillips has suffered from a severe form of leukemia for 21 years. She has donated her body to science so that leukemia research can be performed while she is alive. Despite her illness, she has taught at the college level, volunteered in veterans' hospitals and maintained a career in accounting. She attributes her success to the support she receives from her father.

A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Dr. Phillips is the recipient of a Ph.D. and a master's degree in psychology. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts in management studies. A licensed pilot, she completed an internship, where she was involved with writing the "Leadership Challenge."
