AUBURN, AL, September 2, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lori G. Eckhardt, Associate Research Professor at Auburn University, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in education.
Associate research professor at Auburn University, Dr. Eckhardt specializes in forest pathology and entomology. She teaches and conducts research on biology, chemistry, pathology and entomology in the area of diseases brought on by the encounter of certain insects. She attained her position after gaining experience in a research laboratory, and she attributes her success to her determination and hard work.
In 1997, Dr. Eckhardt received a Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology and Genetics, from the University of Maryland. She went on to obtain a Ph.D. in Plant Health and Entomology from Louisiana State University. She is a member of the Entomological Society of America, the American Phytopathological Society, the Mycological Society of America and the Society of American Foresters. In 2003, she attained the C.W. Edgerton Award. In the future, she intends to become a full professor.
