The Tasmanian Institute of Agricultural Research is a joint venture between the University of Tasmania and the Tasmanian Government to study and disseminate information on Tasmanian agriculture. The partnership has brought together the human and physical resources of Tasmania's two major agricultural research and development providers to create a center of excellence in cool climate agricultural research. The primary objective of the organization is to ensure that all its research, development, extension, education and training programs are of high quality and meet the needs and priorities of Tasmania's agricultural industries.

Dr. Bound is an Australian expert in crop regulations who has served as the Senior Research Fellow at the Tasmanian Institute of Agricultural Research since 1997. During her collegiate career, she earned a PhD in Agricultural Science from the University of Tasmania. Dr. Bound is a member of the Australian Institute of Horticulture Science, American Society for Horticultural Science, and the International Science for Horticultural Science.
