Girija S. Shinde Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Education
Dr. Shinde has been selected as a VIP Member for 2011-2012

COOKEVILLE, TN, October 26, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Girija Shinde, Associate Professor of Biology at Volunteer State Community College, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in education.

With two decades of experience as a college professor both in India and the U.S., Dr. Shinde teaches Biology at Volunteer State Community College, TN, USA. She has served on several college committees and organized international education events and academic seminars throughout her career. Presently she is the chair of International Education Committee of her college. She is actively engaged in promoting study abroad programs and international education experience for American students. She also hosts international students at her home in India. She attributes her success to the support she receives from her parents, husband, and daughter.

While working full-time, she was determined to continue her education and received her Doctorate in Education with a specialization in program Planning and Evaluation from Tennessee Technological University, USA, in 2008. She is a member of the Association of Institutional Research (AIR), the American Evaluation Association (AEA), and Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society. Going forward, Dr. Shinde intends to become more involved in administration and policy decision making. She also is looking forward to becoming more involved in International Education activities and share her knowledge globally.
