The Queensland Medical Laboratories provides world-class diagnostic services to the medical community in Queensland and northern New South Wales. They have 23 laboratories and over 300 collection centers strategically located throughout Queensland and northern New South Wales. Their operations are maintained by over 35 specialist pathologists and over 2000 staff.

Dr. Knight is responsible for overseeing the Cytology Department with over 50 scientists. During his collegiate career, he earned his Medical Degree from the University of Zimbabwe as well as a PhD in Cytology and a Master's degree in Pathology from the University of Capetown. Dr. Knight is a member of the Australian Cytology Society, American Society of Cytology, International Academy of Cytology, and the American College of Pathologists.
