Francisca Iohan Named a VIP of the Year by Cambridge Who's Who
A retired research professional, Francisca Iohan now focuses on creating one-of-a-kind jewelry

CHARLOTTE, NC, August 19, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Francisca Iohan, Jewelry Maker and Retired Research Scientist for the Population Council of Rockefeller University Campus, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in her career.

As a retired research professional with four decades of experience, Ms. Iohan has published 98 scientific research articles, a book, a manual, and has participated in the presentation of 18 national and international symposiums, meetings and communications, developed 15 inventions and organized 23 chromatographic laboratories. She most recently served as a research scientist for the Population Council of Rockefeller University Campus, where she specialized in projects involving high-performance liquid chromatography on thin-layer and column. In recognition of her work, Ms. Iohan is a recipient of an Award of Excellency in Chromatography from the Chemical Research Institute-ICECHIM.

Ms. Iohan has also been in the jewelry and ceramic business for 12 years. She is a successful self-employed jewelry maker with a focus on creating one-of-a-kind creative jewelry in all styles. Ms. Iohan's technique involves fusing stained glass and clay. Her work has been featured in six ceramics and jewelry exhibitions in New York, N.Y. and Charlotte, N.C. Furthermore, Ms. Iohan is an accomplished and award-winning photographer and poet. She attributes her overall success to her intuition, patience, perseverance and knowledge.

In 1954, Ms. Iohan earned a Master of Science in physical chemistry from the University of Bucharest in Romania; she went on to complete doctoral coursework in the subject. Looking toward the future, Ms. Iohan plans to focus on making and selling her unique jewelry.
